These raw edge belts are cut from heavyweight vegetable tanned cow hides, the same full grain Italian leather we usually use for some of our belts. The hides measure approx 3.5mm thick.
Combining this heavyweight hide with a solid brass buckle and finished with a bevelled raw edge detail results in a rugged belt that is made to last.
Leaving the edges raw and undyed adds not only a contrast to the edge in terms of colour, but also texture. Over time and with use as the patina develops this belt will quickly become a favoured companion, telling the story of all your adventures together.

Whilst the durability of the belt is not compromised, there may be small surface marks on either the leather or buckle, or another minor 'feature' meaning that the product cannot be sold at it's full price. We cannot practically photograph each individual belt, but in most cases you may not even be able to identify the 'flaw' - if there is one.

The Raw Edge Belt is hand made using single layer 3.5mm (approx) thick Italian leather.
Personalisation
Personalisation of up to 12 characters is available.
Please purchase a personalisation token for every belt to be personalised.
We use traditional bookbinders brass type (24pt Gill Sans) embossed on the reverse of the belt (hidden on the inside). The hot stamping process allows you to choose between gold, silver, black and blind (no colour) embossing. The personalisation will follow the same orientation as our maker's marque.

Love your Leather
Our leather is ethically and sustainably processed. The tannery uses a mixture of tree barks to transform the animal hides to leather. This is an ancient tradition which results in the familiar leather smell. Natural oils evaporate over time and need replenishing. Apply a dose of Tanner Bates Hide Food to the outside of your belt and other fine leather goods every 6 months or so to keep your leather in tip top condition.
Naturally tanned leather benefits from and will look its very best if given an occasional dose of natural waxes and oils.
